HISTORY
Chennai Equitation Centre [CEC] located on a lush green campus at Sholinganallur in the city of Chennai, on the busy IT Highway. [CEC], is a Trust set up by Mr. Kishore Futnani and was established in January 2010. CEC formerly known as ‘Chennai Equestrian Academy’ was started in 1998 and has become one of the best known Centres for learning horse riding and its equestrian competition training facility is among the finest in India.
FACILITIES
CEC has facilities of international standard and has 35 horses and 7 ponies with a standard sized jumping arena, a dressage arena and 2 lungeing arenas. The Centre has had many International Instructors to help the riders to progress in equitation disciplines like show jumping and dressage as well as for new riders with no prior riding experience become technically sound riders.
COMPETITIONS
The Chennai Equitation Centre has been at the forefront of equestrian sport in south India with teams competing and winning medals at the recent shows like the FEI World Jumping and Dressage Challenges and the Indian Dressage League. The Centre has organized National Dressage & Show Jumping Competitions since 1995 & also organizes regional shows to promote local talent. The most recent regional Show in January 2014 had a participation of 6 teams and 30 riders.
